October 27-29 Community Mediation Training

A 3-day training course to learn effective mediation skills.

Dates: 10-27-2010 to 10-29-2010

Location: The Mediation Center

We are now able to offer 2 CEUs for participating in the training. 

Teachers, social workers, HR professionals, or others who need continuing credits can now apply the training to their professional development!

 

Mediation is increasingly in demand throughout our society. Effective mediation skills are invaluable in all relationships.  

At this training, you will:
  • learn to mediate conflicts using a proven six-stage model
  • build skills for effective communication
  • practice being a neutral in the presence of opposing perspectives
  • learn to suspend judgment and advice to empower others to find their own solutions
  • practice active and reflective listening, facilitating good communication, and guiding a brainstorming process to find creating solutions
  • learn to write simple, future focused agreements to help parties define how they will follow through on their solutions
  • receive feedback on your strengths/challenges as a communicator.

This class is helpful for managers, community leaders, educators, group leaders, and anyone who is willing to serve others in conflict.  Participants will be non-judgmental listeners willing to empower diverse people to find their own answers.

October 27, 28 and 29 from 9am to 5pm

Cancellations made at lease 10 days prior to course start are eligible for a refund. Registrant will be responsible for any fees The Mediation Center incurs.
