Prevention Education Training Series
Beginning July 1st, The Mediation Center is offering FREE prevention education classes for parents and teenagers.

The Mediation Center is offering the following education classes on Tuesdays. Classes are held at The Mediation Center and run from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
July 1 Tobacco Use Prevention
- get the facts about the impacts of smoking on the teenage body and mind with helpful hints to stop smoking.
July 15 Dating Safety Issues
- presented by Our Voice Crisis Center. Learn how to identify and prevent date rape scenarios.
Aug 12 Joblink: Steps to Finding the Job of Your Dreams
- focus on alternatives to 4 year degrees including 2 year programs, on the job training and technical programs.
Aug 26 Families Eating Smart
- At Home and On the Run - the presentation will help indentify making smart choices when eating on the run, dining on fast food and other busy family meal time solutions.
Sept 9 Depression Prevention
- Copestone Juvenile Services will present information on recognizing symptoms of teen suicide, depression and self mutilation.
Sep 23 Dating Violence Prevention
- presented by Helpmate. Learn to identify red flags when dating becomes dangerous.
Oct 7 STI Prevention
- presented by Planned Parenthood. The latest information on sexual transmitted infections and the products available to avoid them.
Oct 21 PFLAG Presentation
- Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays present tolerance and acceptance principles regarding sexual identity.
Nov 4 On Track- Responsible Spending
- learn how to budget your money, monitor your spending and create financial stability.
Nov 18 Substance Abuse Prevention
- presented by ARP Phoenix. Discussions on how to identify drug abuse and resources for breaking the cycle of abuse.
Dec 2 Eating Disorder Issues
- a clincal presentation defining various eating disorders, body issues and the impact of social pressures.
Dec 16 HIV 101
- presented by Planned Parenthood. Defines symptoms of HIV, the impact of HIV on families and HIV prevention.
